TRAINING TOMORROW’S MEDICAL ASSISTANT WITH FUTURO HEALTH
Home | Workforce Solutions | Futuro Health: Workforce Partnership Success Story
With California estimated to need 500,000 more allied health workers by 2024, Futuro Health partnered with Unitek Learning to make Medical Assisting training programs more accessible for diverse adults seeking new career opportunities.
Goal: Increase the number of accessible seats in MA programs
Region: California
Industry: Healthcare
OVERVIEW
Through educational grants, Futuro Health helps thousands of students access training for allied health careers. Over 80% of Futuro students are ethnically and racially diverse, with an average age of 30.
Because many of their students have full time jobs, Futuro Health needed an experienced educational partner who could provide ACCSC-accredited Medical Assisting training in a flexible hybrid format.
SOLUTION
Unitek Learning updated our Medical Assisting curriculum to a hybrid delivery model, ideal for busy adults looking to further their careers. In addition to convenient online courses, Futuro Health scholars received hands-on training from experienced instructors at five Unitek College campuses throughout California.
RESULTS
Hundreds of Futuro Health scholars have graduated with their Medical Assisting diploma and successfully started new careers at healthcare facilities throughout the state. The partnership was such a success that Unitek created additional start dates for Medical Assisting students to keep up with demand.
