Unitek Learning commemorated this event with tours, entertainment, and refreshments for the community.
Newport Beach, California, November 17, 2022 – In late October, Unitek Learning hosted a community event to celebrate the new campus for Brookline College in Tucson, Arizona. A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony took place on Wednesday, October 26th, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., where the Tucson community learned more about the healthcare programs and benefits offered at Brookline College’s Tucson campus.
The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by students, faculty, staff, and various members of the community including the college’s healthcare partners. The event included campus tours, live program demonstrations, meet-and-greets with faculty and staff, entertainment, giveaways, and gelato and other refreshments.
“This was a fantastic event for our team and the community,” said Todd Matthews, the Campus Director in Tucson. “One reason we chose this campus is its central location and proximity to several hospitals and various other medical facilities. In fact, we anticipate that some students will travel from neighboring states so that they may attend our programs. Together, we can help bridge the gap to reduce Arizona’s labor shortage for healthcare professionals.”
Aspiring healthcare students in Tucson can become Brookline graduates in one of these programs: Surgical Technology, Sterile Processing, Medical Assisting, and Phlebotomy Technician. In addition, they expect to launch an Occupational Therapy Assistant program in 2023. Students benefit from a dynamic and modern learning environment, which includes applied training, hands-on exercises, and clinical simulations. Other programs feature online coursework for busy adult learners. Brookline College also offers a free, “Class Pass” program that provides aspiring students with a preview of life on campus.
“Educational achievement can positively impact the student, the community, and the world at large,” said Janis Paulson, Chief Executive Officer at Unitek Learning. “Most of our pupils are first-generation college students who will ultimately usher their families into higher education. We believe the Tucson campus can change the educational trajectory of families for generations.”
