A CNA or Certified Nursing Assistant is an entry-level healthcare position and is integral in providing care to patients, residents, and members of the community. CNAs work closely with nurses, doctors, and other members of the healthcare team providing caring and compassionate patient-centered care.
CNAs work in a variety of settings, such as long-term care facilities, community retirement centers, hospice settings, and hospitals. CNAs must meet the state and federal training requirements and pass the state exam to practice as Certified Nursing Assistants.
Duties and Responsibilities of a CNA include assisting patients/residents with grooming, bathing, feeding, ambulation and mobility, and activities of daily living.`
As a CNA, you will work in a demanding but very rewarding career. In time, you can choose to continue your education in several ways. You can go on to receive your Home Health Aid or Restorative Nurse Assistant certifications. You may also choose an educational pathway that leads you into a nursing career.

Tuition for the NATP Program is $2,750, however, this is an employer/member sponsored program. Students can have their total tuition cost covered, and will also not be charged for books, supplies, lab fees, or exam fees.

Student enrollment into the Nursing Assistant Training Program is dependent upon meeting all testing, application, and health requirements.
To determine an applicant’s readiness for online learning, Unitek Training Healthcare, LLC uses a Distance Learning Profile (DLP) assessment consisting of questions about the applicant’s personal readiness and resources for online learning. Prior to beginning any online education, and applicant must have no risk factors indicated on the DLP assessment.

Upon successful completion of these courses, candidates are eligible to take the State Competency Evaluation for Nursing Assistants. Students will be given the opportunity to test right in the skills lab setting by an approved vendor and approved evaluators. Individuals successfully completing this examination are placed on the California State Nursing Assistant Registry.
This course introduces the concept of basic human needs, the health/illness continuum, and basic skills and procedures required in the nursing assistant role. Topics include the theory and role of the nursing assistant working with various populations in long-term facilities and acute care settings. This course includes 60 hours of online, instructor-led, synchronous learning.

This course introduces students to the various skills and procedures that are required to successfully show competency in order to become a certified nursing assistant in the state of California. It includes skills demonstrations, hands-on practice, instructor-led and supervised activities in a laboratory setting, and orientation to a clinical setting. This course consists of 4 skills lab days.

This course introduces hands-on applications as they pertain to the basic human needs, health/illness continuum, and basic skills introduced in NA100T. This course includes 00 hours of approved instructor-led clinical care of select adult patients in a long-term care setting.

In order to pass NA100T and complete the program, students must achieve a score of 80% or higher on all exams including the final exam and earn a cumulative grade on all assignments of 76% or higher.

All skills lab work is graded as Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (Pass/Fail). Competency, as mandated by state certification standards, must be demonstrated in each skill area to successfully pass this course and complete the program.
Clinical rotations are graded as Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (Pass/Fail). Competency, as mandated by state certification standards, must be demonstrated in each skill area to successfully pass this course and complete the program. Students will receive written notification of clinical probation if performance is unsatisfactory. Students are responsible to track their program performance. Students are encouraged to reach out to the instructor or student service advisor with any concerns.
